- Vector Graphics is the use of geometrical primitives such as points, lines, curves, and shapes or polygons and pixel images uses dots to create an image.

- A college drop out who turned into a perfectionist, created movies and industries that have been the most successful around the world 

What company was he CEO for many years? 
- Apple

What did he do for the computer industry? 
- He helped establish the future for the computer industry with his Apple products and the iMac which caused other companies to follow his footsteps to compete for the consumers.

How did this man impact the graphic design industry?
- Steve Jobs was able to impact the graphic design industry by imploring colors into his computers with certain applications that would let someone freely draw or create using their minds for their creative work

- They must know how to utilize the color and see what works and what doesn't

- The color wheel provides graphic designers with colors to use in their work

What is the pen tool used for? 
- The pen tool is the most essential tool in Illustrator, it is used to make any object by forming shapes or connecting lines.

How can you manipulate a path/line in Illustrator? Discuss the use of the white arrow tool. Pen+, pen-,and convert tool.
- You can use the white arrow tool on specific pathway on the line which you can then stretch it out to make a different shape.

How can you utilize the layers palette in Illustrator?
- You can constantly keep adjusting and adding layers over another

SHAPE: This is an example of shape, they are different types of shapes. Some are wider and smaller than others. While some are 3D while others are 2D. There are a different variety of shapes you can choose from. Shapes are used to enhance art by bringing itself together to create one big masterpiece





LINE: This is a picture of different types of lines. There are lines that are never ending while some have spaces in between them. Some have slopes that go up and down while some are used in machines like the last line. With that said, lines are never ending and are used to enhance art by making really cool looking designs.





TEXTURE: This is an example of texture, bright colors bringing a nice artistic look to any piece of art. Texture can enhance any piece art by having the viewers have glance at it's familiarity.




SPACE

VALUE: This represents value, which can grab the attention of any audience. It shows the different shades of black to grey and white. Value enhances art by having the different shades of colors stand out to the particular art piece.

Why/how can icons be used to communicate? 
- An icon can be used to communicate by showing the artistic details of the design which can attract other individuals.

Via the internet, find 2 examples of common icons that clearly communicate their message.

- The Apple logo easily communicates with it's consumers because it attract their attention, when they look at it, they know it's from the Apple company.

- When people see the Nike logo, it's a swoosh icon and that they know that the brand attracts sports athletes

What is the difference between copyright and public domain?
- Copyright is protection from other people using your work and trying to take credit for it.

How can you avoid plagiarism in this class?  In other classes?
- The way you avoid plagiarism in this class to not copy and paste other people's work and make it your own.

What is OSHA? What do the letters stand for? OSHA stands for Occupational Safety Health Administration. OSHA shows what is hazardous.

How can graphic designers effectively communicate? In your own words, explain the communication process.
Graphics designers can effectively communicate by using their symbols and visuals to unite with one another by their creativity.


Understanding the history, culture and movements of fine and graphic arts will make you a better producer of visual messages. Why? It will let understand the rich history and techniques of a culture to make you a better producer of visual messages.

What does it take to create good graphic design? Requires the understanding and elements principles of design.

What is the difference between elements and principles? Elements are components of parts and principles tells us how to organize those elements.

Name the six (6) elements of design. Line, Shape or Form, Texture, Value, and Color

What can lines aid in, when alone or combined with  other lines or shapes? They can aid in the readability, appearance and message of a design.

Which lines suggest a feeling of rest? Why do you think?
 Vertical lines communicate a feeling of what? Why do you think? Horizontal lines because of its feelings with gravity. Vertical lines communicate a feeling of loftiness because they are vertical.

What lines suggest a feeling of movement? Why do you think? Diagonal lines, because of it's directions it can go in and the fact that it's diagonal.

Soft, shallow curved lines suggest what? Why do you think? They suggests comfort, safety, and relaxation because they are soft and shallow

These lines suggest confusion and turbulence? Why do you think? Curved lines because they have a way of tricking and confusing the audience.

What element defines a specific area of space? What is the difference between two dimensional shapes and three dimensional shapes? Shapes define a specific area of space. A two dimensional shape has width and height and a three dimensional height has depth as well as width and height.

Describe the difference between geometric shapes and organic shapes? Geometric shapes are structured symmetrical shapes, organic shapes are found in nature where they can be man-made shapes.

What are abstract shapes? Are stylized or simplified versions of natural shapes

Which basic shape projects an attitude of honesty or equality? A square

What do triangles suggest? It suggests actions and stability

Circles convey feelings of what? Feeling of protection or infinity

Describe positive space and negative space? What is texture? Incorporating texture into a design can help do what? What is value? Positive space is the area which contains all of the elements you have added to your design, negative space refers to the shapes around and between those objects and elements. Texture can refer to the actual surface of a design with the reader actually being able to feel the texture of the paper and materials in the printed design. Incorporating texture into a design can help you create a feeling of richness and depth. Value is the degree of light and dark in a design


What is another name for value? What can the element of color do when incorporated into a  design? Another name for value is called Tone. Element of color can convey moods, create images, attract attention, and identify objects.
